There's probably lots of just normal news that I could cover in this entry, but instead I'm just going to more or less say that I'm alive and doing well. I love Paula and she loves me and I don't have anything looming over me threatening to take my life away. So. That's really all that I need to be quite content with my life. If I have a flaw, it's the ability to be content with little.
HAY LOOK, in two months I have earned $1.81 dollars on my savings account! Yay for money that accrues without me needing to do a thing.
In other news, I archived all my old LJ entries, which is probably part of why I'm actually making an entry. I used to make entries all the time. Of course, I also used to do a whole lot more memes and quizzes. So, I will take this opportunity to pimp
hat_sorting. Go there, read the FAQs and do the questionnaire and they'll sort you into a house from Hogwarts! Be forewarned that the questionnaire is quite long and detailed and the process takes a bit, but it's good value for your time. If you really want to be sorted into a house.
In looking back over my old entries, I read a lot of stuff about the good old Vulpine Imperium. As I read them, I realize more and more how that community (and, indeed, many other of the same type of communities) could have benefited from the GM paradigm. Not to mention how it would have probably worked better if the Ministers and whatnot were NPCs and mods/whatever just had normal-er characters. Well, at least for RPers like me. I never could really RP with the common masses if I was the Mayor or the MinoNice. It just wouldn't have worked.
However, I sincerely doubt many other Ministers would want to give up their positions and powers to be GM types, who only control the entire world and have no real face in the game.

( Harry Potter House Quiz )
I thought I'd be in Ravenclaw, actually. Last time I was Hugglepuff, I believe. Gryffindor's okay with me, I suppose.
Yesterday, I read The Hogfather by Terry Pratchett another time. It's definitely one of the best. I liked the justification given for telling kids things like the Soul Cake Duck (Easter Bunny) and Hogfather (Santa Claus) are true, even though I don't agree with it. It was good philosophical thinking. And now, a quote or two.
AND NOW THERE REMAINS ONLY ONE FINAL QUESTION.
HAVE YOU BEEN NAUGHTY ... OR NICE?
HO. HO. HO.
~Death in the very end.
--"Well, I mean, dammit, it's human nature, isn't it?" said Ridcully hotly. "Things go wrong, things get lost, it's natural to invent little creatures that -- All right, all right, I'll be careful. All I'm saying is that man is naturally a mythopoeic creature."
--"What's that mean?" said the Senior Wrangler.
--"Means we make things up as we go along," said the Dean, not looking up.
~On the Accretion of Belief
I also studied some for my Spanish midterm tommorrow. I think I'll do okay on it. I need to study vocabulary today though. Good old flashcard time. Just gotta be careful that the word doesn't get attached to the flashcard and is still kept as an abstract for me to use at any time.
*laughs* I have to teach a bit of class this morning. Stuff about one type of irregular preterits. The other two people in my group are covering the other types of irregular preterits. I look forward to it, it should be pretty fun. And it happens in about an hour. So I only get to look forward to it for a little time.
Taking a look at my chat logs lengths...
1. Kearney with a whopping 656kb of conversation.
2. Raserei trailing by slightly less than 200kb at 461.
3. IronPaw almost another full 100 behind at 368.
4. Myrhakel at 326kb.
5. Digger precisely 100kb behind her at 226.
This doesn't take into account where people talk to me with two different chatting engines. Myrhakel's count would probably be up higher if I spliced the MSN-Trillian and MSN conversations into her count. And maybe some more added to Ras from his MSN also.
Nothing really more to say... Need to go reply to Reno at VI though...
