There's probably lots of just normal news that I could cover in this entry, but instead I'm just going to more or less say that I'm alive and doing well. I love Paula and she loves me and I don't have anything looming over me threatening to take my life away. So. That's really all that I need to be quite content with my life. If I have a flaw, it's the ability to be content with little.
HAY LOOK, in two months I have earned $1.81 dollars on my savings account! Yay for money that accrues without me needing to do a thing.
In other news, I archived all my old LJ entries, which is probably part of why I'm actually making an entry. I used to make entries all the time. Of course, I also used to do a whole lot more memes and quizzes. So, I will take this opportunity to pimp
hat_sorting. Go there, read the FAQs and do the questionnaire and they'll sort you into a house from Hogwarts! Be forewarned that the questionnaire is quite long and detailed and the process takes a bit, but it's good value for your time. If you really want to be sorted into a house.
In looking back over my old entries, I read a lot of stuff about the good old Vulpine Imperium. As I read them, I realize more and more how that community (and, indeed, many other of the same type of communities) could have benefited from the GM paradigm. Not to mention how it would have probably worked better if the Ministers and whatnot were NPCs and mods/whatever just had normal-er characters. Well, at least for RPers like me. I never could really RP with the common masses if I was the Mayor or the MinoNice. It just wouldn't have worked.
However, I sincerely doubt many other Ministers would want to give up their positions and powers to be GM types, who only control the entire world and have no real face in the game.

I thought I'd be in Ravenclaw, actually. Last time I was Hugglepuff, I believe. Gryffindor's okay with me, I suppose.
Yesterday, I read The Hogfather by Terry Pratchett another time. It's definitely one of the best. I liked the justification given for telling kids things like the Soul Cake Duck (Easter Bunny) and Hogfather (Santa Claus) are true, even though I don't agree with it. It was good philosophical thinking. And now, a quote or two.
AND NOW THERE REMAINS ONLY ONE FINAL QUESTION.
HAVE YOU BEEN NAUGHTY ... OR NICE?
HO. HO. HO.
~Death in the very end.
--"Well, I mean, dammit, it's human nature, isn't it?" said Ridcully hotly. "Things go wrong, things get lost, it's natural to invent little creatures that -- All right, all right, I'll be careful. All I'm saying is that man is naturally a mythopoeic creature."
--"What's that mean?" said the Senior Wrangler.
--"Means we make things up as we go along," said the Dean, not looking up.
~On the Accretion of Belief
I also studied some for my Spanish midterm tommorrow. I think I'll do okay on it. I need to study vocabulary today though. Good old flashcard time. Just gotta be careful that the word doesn't get attached to the flashcard and is still kept as an abstract for me to use at any time.
*laughs* I have to teach a bit of class this morning. Stuff about one type of irregular preterits. The other two people in my group are covering the other types of irregular preterits. I look forward to it, it should be pretty fun. And it happens in about an hour. So I only get to look forward to it for a little time.
Taking a look at my chat logs lengths...
1. Kearney with a whopping 656kb of conversation.
2. Raserei trailing by slightly less than 200kb at 461.
3. IronPaw almost another full 100 behind at 368.
4. Myrhakel at 326kb.
5. Digger precisely 100kb behind her at 226.
This doesn't take into account where people talk to me with two different chatting engines. Myrhakel's count would probably be up higher if I spliced the MSN-Trillian and MSN conversations into her count. And maybe some more added to Ras from his MSN also.
Nothing really more to say... Need to go reply to Reno at VI though...

I think I agree with her now. I took a bath for the first time in a very long time yesterday. I much prefer showers.

I realized that I left out two arts at least. This whole "even dozen" thing isn't looking like it's going to work out. Maybe when (and if) I write it in with Dalliance, he'll add a couple Arts, changing the traditional Twelve Arts to more.
Art of Sculpture: Sculptor/Skulptrix - This better be rather obvious. He or she is in charge of sculpture and things along that bent, like pottery.
Art of Dance: The Lord/Lady of the Dance - Also better be obvious. His/her post is in the region of dance. This leads to an interesting quandary. A song and dance routine would fall under the Arts of Dance, Music and Poetry. So, theoretically, these three would be allies.
That's all I can add for the moment.

Well, I was thinking about what I would do if I was MinoNice. So I came up with a bit of a plan. Not that I heavily desire Niceties or anything like that, but I want to be prepared, of course. Scout's motto and all that.

Oh, the horrors the fellah who summarizes stuff must go through. *shudders* I do not want to read about Raserei and Terri getting into a compromising situation, getting drunk and Ras having flirting thoughts about the fox.
Bleeeeeeaaaaaah.

And he seriously stylin'.
Okay, to cut a long story longer, I was presenting a bit of a plot in the Imperium-Wide plot thing for VI. Something that I had cooked up to give us a bit of direction over the next few weeks of the plot. That is, of course, if the three other Captain's wish to go along with it. I'm glad I've got Myrh on my side for this plot. Having Terri on mine for the next one might be ... slow. And I know I can't get Kenshin on my side.
Anyways, I wanted a character of mine to present it. Nanda wasn't quite the sort to do, nor were TGF, the Ghost of Torry Steggims (*shudders*), Achoo Dockrans, the Skeptic, Akof or Phil (or whoever I replaced Phil with). So I had to come up with something new. Something improved. Something cool.
So I pulled my namesake, Falar Ransted, out and gave him a makeover. Now's he's a bit of a business-mouse, it appears. He wears a black suit now. Why? I dunno. Black is cool and stuff. And he wears a red tie with a gold clip. Adds to that clean-cut, cool mouse look. Or maybe the tie should be black... Nah. I prefer red.
He also wears shades. That he can tweak down to show off his blue eyes. Or even put away when it comes time to use his gun. More on his gun later. Of course, he's got a set of pearly whites, long whiskers and biggish ears. Looks vaguely like he came out of a bad version of some kids book.
A black case is the only other part of his ensemble. He carries it everywhere he goes. It contains whatever papers he's working with at the moment. In the case of this presentation, the plots. But that's only one thing he keeps in the suitcase.
The other thing is his Gun. Note the capitalization on that. This is his Gun. It's a big .45 revolver. And it's silvery looking. With a black butt. And there are no markings on it, just silvery sheen. Falar uses it as a mirror to check his appearance and whatnot. See around corners and everything.
Also in the case are 18 spare rounds of standard .45 ammo. There's also a special long barrel and attachable rifle-butt for long range. Another barrel and a separate type of ammo, which he keeps a dozen rounds of, are for spread shooting. A shotgun of sorts. Six tracer rounds and six explosive rounds complete the arsenal that is in his case.
I need to get somebody to draw him...

*coughs* I'm getting very angry with Raserei. He keeps jumping the durned gun. Wait until somebeast has set the fire before you smell it, smart stuff. And you could've had some awesome, awesome fun at that whole dinner thing and, apparently, it just got skimmed.

In other news, I think my confidence is growing. That or my extrovertedness. I'm actually starting to talk to random people in my class when walking down the hall. Previously, I never actually did that. Maybe a nod or wave, but I wouldn't actually say anything to them. Now I did. Having snatches of conversation and such. 'Sodd for me.
I'm not yet very impressed with The Ultimate Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. It really hasn't caught my attention as much as it probably shoul have. I think I don't do well reading very, very hyped up books or talking to very, very hyped up people.
Moro doesn't like me. He says I sound like Douglas Adams or Terry Pratchett too much. Which I find odd as I quite enjoy Pratchett and I think he does too.
I have an oral exam in Spanish tommorrow. That should be interesting. I think I have a good chance of getting an A/B on that bit. I should, for all look, get an A/B in the class. If I get a B, well, I'll cry, having ruint my perfect 4.0 gpa. *grins* Not really.
I took an online Brain-Teaser test at Tickle.com. I got 28 out of 30 questions wrong which puts me in the 99th percentile. Yaaaay.

I'm not dead. I just ... disappeared ... for a short time. Things were rather boring the past two days.
On Monday: I didn't really do anything of note. Except lots and lots of the normal plotting with Myrhakel. It was a lot of fun, but, unfortunately, not a whole lot of stuff actually happened. Sadly, this is the norm for plotting. The truly creative and whatnot people in the VI don't seem to have the power to actually do anything. Other than to be influential to people who can do something. Which doesn't work as good. Because a good number of the actual powerful people are Unreasonable.
On Tuesday: I had a midterm for Spanish. I think I got an 80-90 on it. There was also a family shindig and I got Good Omens and The Ultimate Hitch-Hiker's Guide to the Galaxy. Good Omens was Rather Good.
That's about it, really.

My family is hilarious. An event in our lives is as follows.
Today is church day for me. I have to go in early to set up the sound and what not. It's part of what I do in praise of what He's done for me. Anyways, this means that I have to get my shower early.
So I was in the shower and suddenly I hear, knock knock knock on the door. I shut off the water and yell out to the hall, "What?"
Sarah: "Does a straight beat a flush in poker?"
Me: "Er, Yes!"
So I go back to shower. I'm about 2/3rds done and I knock knock knock comes on the door. I shut off the water again and yell out to the all, "What?"
Sarah: "Does a straight beat a full house?"
Me: "Yes."
Then I finished my shower.
In other news:
Yay! Yay! Yay! Yay! Yay! Yay! Yay! Yay! Yay! Yay! Yay! Yay! Yay! Yay! Yay! Yay! Yay! Yay! Yay! Yay! Yay! Yay! Yay! Yay! Yay! Yay! Yay! Yay! Yay! Yay! Yay! Yay! Yay! Yay! Yay! Yay! Yay! Yay! Yay! Yay! Yay! Yay! Yay! Yay! Yay! Yay! Yay! Yay! Yay! Yay! Yay!
It seems that Cyra, Rystan, Ringi and Severan are back in VI. This is a cause worth drinking about. Of course, *grins* most causes are worth drinking about.

Graaaar. Im officially in a bad mood at the moment. Im getting rather fed up witht he higher echelons of VI. They arent as fun as I thought theyd be. Some people are far to obsessed with certain things.

Hmmmm, guess what I just figured out. I can find Anime streams online with WinAmp Internet TV. Now, it doesn't seem like there's extremely much selection, but it's not like I'm into anime ... yet. All that Ive seen of it is interesting. The only TV I think I could watch for a long time, methinks. Wish I knew Japanese though.
Im watching Helsing at the moment. Unfortunately, it appears that I caught this run towards the middle or end. Its Order 12: Total Destruction at the moment. Its funny how much you can imply just by knowing some names of Vampire Mythology. Alucard is Dracula backwards... Good ol Annotated Pratchett. Im wondering who Integra is though... And the girl with the red eyes... The costumes are nice... The music is good too... I only wish it was in English...
Other news. Tommorrow is my first exam in Spanish. The Midterm, hactually. Must ... study ... vocabulary ... and ... verbs. I think it will be a breeze though. Other than I might have troubles with where to put the tick marks and such. Spanish 101 in four weeks is working well for me. I think the professor thinks I know what Im doing also. And thats half the battle. Even if I dont know a thing, the grade is based on whether she thinks I know.
Thats all at the moment. VI is just interesting...

Yup, I got my passcode and I'm back in VI. And I've posted two good long posts. It's so refreshing posting with competent characters. So, so refreshing. I haven't written an competent character since ... well .. before QBIII. That was a long while ago. I've been seriously cramping my style.
Lightning is fun to play with. As is thunder. And fog.
Playing a female is interesting. I wonder what she'll be like when she see's Grolgum, the handsome cad... *grins wickedly*

I have to get a passcode to sign back up into VI. No problem, right? Just get ahold of Retto.
Ha-ha. He's like Prof. Bellis. When you don't need him, you always see him, but when you're looking for him, he's not there. I swear. Every time I turn my back he's dancing between the hallways.
Anyways, I requested it to my Marshall account. Last night I left a notice with the Rettster about the passcode. So I went to check my email. It's down. Graaaaar.
I'm still sore.

Anyways, I've been thinking about my permanent character for VI some more. I've figured out that it will take approximately eight or nine weeks before he actually shows up. Also, from talking with IronPaw, it might turn out that Quincy Rannahan does not die and something ... cool ... will happen to him.
Which leads me to point the second. Quincy is a ferret. I was thinking of coming back as a fox. So... should I change his species to a fox (it's not extremely important in this case) or should I go ahead with killing him and forfeit the cool thing that may happen?

"Iiiii, I love my pantalones..." ~These Are Not My Pants, Five Iron Frenzy
I slept pretty good last night. Well, let's put it this way, I laid down to sleep, tossed and turned maybe 15 minutes then the next thing I remember is the alarm clock going off. And I woke up and napped for a few minutes. Then it was inside, check 'round the websites and grab a shower. Now I'm writing this missive.
It looks like I'll get the article in. That is, if everyone comes through. I've got four people working on the four articles I need. And the fifth is to be just a retraction of where I said that Calria and Agle had a wildcat kitten. Typo.
I think that when I get back from killing Achoo, I'll join Myrh's ship for the length of the plot. As Nanda Deruun, the marteness for the plot, which IronPaw said was still on. He said it was just going to happen right after the treasure plot. He's going to me 2000 gilders over his original price on the Smelt issue for "psychological trauma."
During the length of the plot, I'll alienate Myrh's character more and more. When I get back, I'll transfer to Terri's ship and when I make my bid for MinoMis-ship, my bad relationship with Myrh will drive her more towards being a loyalist. Backstory, mmmmmm.
That way, every captain but Kenshin gets a shot at having me... *grins*
